OPEN TO SEE WASHES AT CONE 06, 6, AND 10. Washes are a multi-purpose product with limitless possibilities. Washes can be used alone or with any glaze from low fire (cone 06/05), mid-range (cone 5/6), and up to high-fire (cone 10). They are primarily used painted into textured areas and wiped away on the higher surface to accentuate the texture. It works great for stenciling, stamping and silkscreening as it is a very stable product. When using in combination, apply a transparent and stable glaze such as a celadon or clear glaze to ensure stability in performance and maintaining details. Can be layered with other glazes to promote interactions and does not add much movement to combinations. Iron Wash also works great as a body stain. Applying clear glaze can lessen the appearance of staining.

Mudcrack was developed to create a highly-texture raised and cracked surface. The thicker the application, the more textured the surface. Mudcrack can be directly applied to bisqueware or in combination with other mid-range glazes. For shown results, apply directly to bisqueware. Heavy application may cause unfired glaze to release from bisqueware. If glaze is thick in the jar, vigorous stirring and shaking will increase fluidity. The amount of texture and cracking that is produced with these glazes is directly a result of how thick the glaze is applied. A thinner application will result in a smoother surface with very fine cracks. A thicker application will result in larger cracks and more tactile texture.
