8 colors: Red, Light Red, Real Orange, Electric Blue, Amethyst, Violet, Hunter Green, & Salmon. Decorating colors are concentrated, intense and opaque. Additional shades and tints can be made by intermixing. Colors may be brushed on either bisque or greenware. A brush dipped in water lifts the color for decorating. Further thinning of the water soluble colors prepares them for transparent water color effects by brushing. Because the colors are approximately the same tone before and after firing, the effectiveness of color combinations and blending can be observed as painting progresses. Our translucent glazes are great over brushwork, carvings and texture and colored clays. While celadons are usually thought of as ranging from pale to intense green, traditional celadons could also be clear, yellow or blue. We have expanded the pallete to include a rich variety of colors. These glazes are user friendly, pooling without being overly runny. Particularly nice over porcelain or smooth white clay. Sea Mist is one of the Texas Two Step Overcoats which can be layered with a Texas Two Step Undercoat to produce an oilspot effect. On its own it is a mottled blue-green that can develop pale spots alone. The Texas Two-Step Oilspots are a specialized series that use pairs of glazes to create unique effects. Anywhere that overcoat is laid on top of an undercoat, a stunning spotted pattern will appear during firing. Thicker applications lead to bigger spots.
