AMACO Cosmos - CO-13 - Mars Crystal - 1 pint
AMACO Cosmos - CO-13 - Mars Crystal - 1 pint

Mars Crystal is a highly fluid, dark brick red glaze with silvery, iridescent crystals. Opaque and breaks darker. Apply to: Cone 04 Bisqueware Number of coats: 4 coats This glaze performs best at cone 6 but can be fired to cone 5. For best results, leave the inside or back of the form unglazed. Can be fired in a normal medium-speed firing with no special cooling schedule required. To take this glaze to the next level, use a controlled cooling schedule for increased crystal growth. These glazes are prone to running so we recommend stopping your glaze about half an inch above the foot. You can also use a drip tray or soft bricks to protect kiln shelves. Is this glaze food safe? Yes, but due to durability, these glazes are not recommended for food surfaces. Safety Warning Tableware producers must test all finished ware to establish dinnerware status, due to possible variations in firing temperature and contamination. AMACO Crawls - CR-1 - Black - 1 pint
AMACO Crawls - CR-1 - Black - 1 pint

CR-1 is a glossy black glaze that, when fired, crawls into raised shapes of varying sizes and forms. The result is a surface marked by unpredictable, natural patterns that add unique texture and visual interest to each piece. Apply 1-4 even coats of glaze to cone 04 bisque. Allow each coat to dry almost fully, but before any significant cracking occurs. Crawl glazes will develop hairline cracks as they dry; handle with care. For added durability before firing, layer over an AMACO Celadon glaze or underglaze. More coats create larger glaze dots, while thinner coats produce a finer bead effect. Increased coats will produce more cracks. Fire to cone 5-6 for best results. These glazes are food safe when layered over AMACO Celadons. Due to variations in raw materials used during manufacturing, we recommend firing glazed test tiles before using each new batch number of glaze.
